Ricky Thomas Ponting(1974 - ...) was an Australian Cricketer for 17 years (1995 - 2012), the most successful captain of his era and one of the most successful captains of all time. He is a specialist Middle Order Batsman and a slip, close catching fielder. He has won the Allan border medal 4 times, the highest number along with Michael Clarke. He is one of the four players to score 13000 test runs along with Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulker, Jacques Kallis. He has been the leading test run scorer of four years 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006.
